What a great beginner project! Loving the chunky wool yarn that is used. The half-double crochets are probably my favorite stitch to do because the way the stitch is made flows easily for me from fingers to hook. I can get in a good rhythm! Even though it is a chunky yarn it appears that it drapes wonderfully!

Patterns like this one are great when you need a gift in a hurry or need to make up a lot of items for bazaar or craft tables. The pattern is very simple and great for beginners. The large hook and yarn make it easy to hold and to see the stitches. It would make an excellent teaching pattern for anyone wanting to teach their kids how to crochet.

I like the idea of this Crochet Beginner One Hour Cowl. The easy to do and understand pattern is a must have for the cold winter days and nights. The written pattern is well written and easy to follow with a easy double crochet stitch, making this a nice warm cowl. I am not sure what color I want mine to be yet, but I think this cowl will also make a nice gift. Only a hour to make so you can make a lot of these and keep on hand for that last minute gift. Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern.

This is very practical as you can place it in your bag then wear it really gets cold on very cold fall and winter days. This one is done in that creamy chunky yarn but you can also make this in colors you fancy.
