6 School of Shark Crochet Patterns Nautical Design Ideas

Although they are certainly scary, sharks are incredibly fascinating animals. It's impossible not to enjoy them in some form, from the classic movie Jaws, which first taught us that we love to freak out over this ocean monster, to the now annual Shark Week, which inspires viewing parties and all sorts of shark regalia.

No matter how you got hooked on sharks, we have collected the best shark and nautical patterns around. As a matter of fact, you might even consider this a Sharknado of free crochet patterns.

No true fan of sharks can claim their passion without having an appropriately themed crochet hat pattern, slippers, or even a can cozy to back them up. With this collection of 6 School of Shark Crochet Patterns + Nautical Design Ideas, you can find a free shark pattern to fit any aspect of your life, and once you get started on the first few, you won't be able to resist crocheting a few more pieces of the ocean to go along with it.

These bonus nautical patterns will delight you with their under-the-sea blues and greens—and another of the ocean's terrors makes an appearance, although this jellyfish has a pretty adorable face. Grab your hooks: the world is your oyster when it comes to making these creative and unique patterns your own.

Hungry Shark Crochet Slippers

This is a diverse selection of free crochet patterns, but they all have one thing in common: your favorite ocean creature. When it's time enjoy one of those classic beach movies or perhaps a documentary chasing one of these ocean creatures, you can sit back and relax with a refreshing beverage, which your tame shark will be keeping nice and cool for you.

On your next trip to the beach, you can sport your headgear proudly. Also, if you can convince yourself to part with any of them, these shark patterns make great gifts for kids, especially someone headed back-to-school and in need of a pencil pouch.

Bonus! Ocean Patterns

Under the Sea Applique

Of course, sharks need their habitat, so you can't leave them high and dry without working up a few nautical patterns. These summer crochet patterns will have you ready to pack up and head to the beach with your new ocean-themed appliques and your beach bag in tow.

With all your favorite shades of blue and green, these designs capture that fun and free feeling of an ocean breeze. Most of them are easy crochet patterns (with a few challenges thrown in to keep things interesting), so you can relax and get that beach feeling while working up these exciting projects.

Just the thing for Shark Week! Ive already worked up several of these clever patterns, and one grandson just told me he has sadly outgrown the Shark Slippers I made him a couple of Christmases ago, and he would dearly love another pair this year. For some reason, my grandsons seem to like these whimsical slippers more than the granddaughters. Even my grown son has requested a pair.

Sharks are my favorite animal, so I was immediately drawn to this. I'm also obsessed with all things nautical so it's safe to say I love everything here!
