18 Floral Granny Square Patterns

Crochet granny squares can be seen as the building blocks of crochet projects, both large and small. When you're making them on their own, crochet granny squares are perfect for small things around the house, like dishcloths or coasters. You can even make them slightly larger and use them as trivets on your dining tables for a colorful way to protect your table. You can just as easily join granny square patterns together to form larger projects, like granny square afghans, or smaller items like granny square sweaters, tops and even bags and purses.
A popular trend in granny square designs is floral and flowery squares - it's so easy to create a little square with a bright and vibrant flower inside. Plus, whether you use it on its own as a coaster or trivet, or you make it into a floral afghan or purse, they're easy and quick to make. Work up an entire floral afghan, or make a handful of floral granny squares to add in sparingly, giving your finished design little pops of color. You can make your granny squares in as many colors as your way, and you can even make them three-dimensional to add a little bit of texture to your finished work.

Crochet Flower Patterns

Simple and sweet, floral crochet granny squares are a perfect way to welcome in the warm, spring weather. These small, individual designs look great on their own or joined together later for the perfect spring-ready crochet afghan. Choose your colors and make these granny squares resemble your favorite flowers, or have them simply match your favorite colors or color scheme. The possibilities are endless!

3D Crochet Flower Patterns

Three-dimensional floral granny square patterns are rising in popularity, as bright colors and fun texture are ever popular. Adding some texture to your finished design will help make your design stand out, in more ways than one. Adding a textured center will draw attention to the flower and will really make the colors pop, plus it will draw attention and admiration from anyone who notices it.

Floral Granny Square Patterns

When you join you granny squares together, you'll see that there are a huge variety of resulting projects like purses and totes, tees and sweaters and the ever popular granny square afghan. These beautiful floral patterns are darling on their own, but they really bloom when you join them together.

I must have died and went to granny square heaven! I have looked thru books and magazines and all kinds of places to try to find different patterns for granny squares and here they are. Beautiful, free and easy! So many to choose from that I may make one of each. I may use the same color yarn in each one and that way I can make an afghan out of them. Thank you for these little beauties!
