I have never worked a plaid color pooling, and now I am thoroughly intrigued. The designer walks you through the entire process with wonderful photos and instructions, but to be honest, I think Im going to have to watch a few of the suggested videos first. I love variegated yarn anyway, so Im hoping I already have something in my stash I can use. If not, Im perfectly willing to track down some of the recommended Red Heart Super Saver. Thats always in my budget!

I really love the argyle effect of color pooling, and that it can be done with almost any variegated yarn. I love that this is a set and includes a hat because i think they are more difficult to make, even though color pooling is difficult as is. It takes patience and practice because you must keep your tension even after you've figured out how many stitches you need to get it right, but the finished look is worth it.

There aren't many articles about color pooling. There are even fewer crochet patterns. SO, the ones that I do find have me jumping for joy. This technique is so cool! I have wanted to try color pooling for some time. It would be a challenge I am willing to accept. She explains in her blog, step by step, with lots of pictures. Again, I find this topic fascinating! I can't wait to try this. I don't have a little girl to make/give the hat to, but I'd love to make the scarf for myself.
