17 Hostess Gift Ideas for the Holidays

Crocheted Coasters and Trivets

The host has likely just spent all day in the kitchen. Show your appreciation for their hard work with one of these festive coasters or trivets. Each one of these holiday themed crocheted coasters would add the perfect finishing touch to any holiday spread. Plus, their small size means these free crochet patterns are all super quick to crochet. (They're also a great way to use up leftover yarn!)

Simply Cheerful Trivets

Although not very Christmasy, there's nothing to brighten up a home like a thoughtful and colorful trivet like this one!

Colorful Kitchen Trivet

Quick Snowman Coaster

This wintry gift is quick to make if you're in a rush!

Crocheted Gift Bags

Gift wrap can get expensive. Why spend all that money on something that's just going to get ripped apart and thrown away? Instead, kick your wrapping up a notch this year without spending a dime. Wrap your hostess gift in any one of these crocheted gift bags. It's a great way to make your hostess gift stand apart from all the others. Plus, it's like two gifts in one! Who wouldn't love a homemade holiday bag that you can use again and again?

Floral Gift Topper

If you already have a gift but need a little something extra, crochet this cute gift topper.

This might sound strange, but I like to keep a selection of hostess gifts wrapped and ready in a little basket by my front door. Chalk it up to the days when my school aged kids would inevitably tell me at the last minute that they needed to bring something to donate or give to someone. I try for generic items, and this collection has a number of clever ideas. Ive already worked some up and will be making more in the future.

Here is a pattern for the towel if you don't already have one.
