As the movie Elf reminds us, elves are the epitome of Christmas crochet, which is why this crochet hat is the perfect blend of Christmas crochet and winter warmth. It'll keep your little elf's head warm while looking insanely cute and festive. No wonder that this boy never took off this hat the moment he started wearing it. This hat is so neatly done. The colors used are just the right shade. Almost perfect!

This would be a cute hat for a photo session. I love that Sarah Zimmerman always includes a range of sizes, so one can be worked up for every member of the family. And, it would be pretty simple to stripe the hat if you wanted.

My grand kids will love this. They have elf on the shelf in both boy and girl versions. I have seen this with a shorter tail on the hat. I like this much better. I need to add some jingle bells to the pompom too. My only problem is that I will need to make four.

This insanely cute jolly elf crochet hat will fit right in with my family and relatives because when we get together for the holidays or any occasion for that matter we are all insanely cute ourselves. LOL What an adorable young man used as the model for this hat. He looks like he is ready for Santa to visit.

I always love patterns from Repeat Crafter Me, they always come out so nicely. After reading this pattern for the Jolly Elf Crochet Hat Pattern, it think it would come out great. This one has been around for a few years and all the bugs have been fixed. I like that these can be made and sold if wanted. There are also patterns for all sizes for this one so she takes the guess work out of the idea of making it for a adult or a baby. Thanks! Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I always look forward to new projects from Repeat Crafter Me! This long tail elf hat is a definite winner in my book. Since the entire hat is worked in double crochet (including the band, i.e. front post and back post double crochet), this worked up in no time flat. I kept the original colors when I worked up some for my grandchildren, but I have seen striped versionsanother fine suggestion by the author.

So cute, and after reading the directions, very easy too. It should make up in no time. The only thing I need to change I see he type of yarns. I live in central Florida as do my grand kids. It's to be 86 on Christmas so I need a much lighter weight yarn. Then they can have fun wearing these. Of course I have to add a bell in that pompom.
