Cabled Blooms 12 Afghan Square

"My very first afghan square design! I needed to design a 12" afghan square for a collaboration with another designer, but for the life of me I couldn't come up with a design. Then it hit me! Cables, I need to design a cabled afghan square to stay true to myself. That's when the Cabled Blooms afghan square was born. I love the solid version, but admit that the multi-colored version is great as well. The design includes a couple plains rounds of single crochet at the end that you can omit if you'd like."

. Granny squares are one of my favorite to crochet. The squares can be used in so many ways. You can use the granny squares to make purses, grocery bags, Afghans, clothing and decor. I love this square because of its size. All of the squares can be made larger by just adding rows but this one is beautiful. I love the shades of brown.

I love to crochet granny squares - all granny squares. I think I have seen some 12" squares but this one is breathtaking. I love the cable design. Cables are mostly found in knitting and I have no idea how to do that. I know I will put this granny square on my to crochet list.

Awesome color combination in this afghan square. To be her first time at designing a square pattern, she did a fabulous job! Some people are just born with the gift. I was born with the gift also, but to ready patterns not to make them. Maybe one day, but not right now.

Just because something is called an afghan square doesnt mean you have to use is that way. Ive found that many larger squares can stand alone as an unusual decorative pillow. This is a wonderful pattern, but it is in sore need of some photos. Im an experienced crocheter, and I would have to work this upand be willing to pull outthe rows to get the motif. Please consider adding photos!

The look of this afghan square is so gorgeous! The earthy and cozy feel is perfect for any time of the year.
