Ready for some groovy crochet? We love the style of the 1960s and '70s and thought we'd share our favorite crochet patterns inspired by this creative era. With this page, Get Groovy: 29+ Free Hippie Crochet Patterns, your mind will be blown with all the retro crochet patterns.

A lot of times, modern crochet inspired by these couple of decades is referred to as "boho" or bohemian but there's nothing quite like the original peace and love fashion. Whether you are looking for that perfect crochet hippie vest or fringe bag, or want to add a hip touch to your home, these hippie patterns will satisfy.

Prepare yourself for bright colors, flower power, and the coolest styles of crochet you haven't seen recently. If it's not peace signs, it's butterflies and flowers, or colors that make you think back to those peace-loving days. This hippie crochet patterns page is separated into three sections to help you navigate it better. First, we have the clothing. It's here you'll see wearables like ponchos and vests.

The second section is where you'll get your kicks if you love to accessorize. These accessories include radical bags and headbands, along with some shoes, belts, and scarves. The last section is all about your home. You will love these retro crochet pillows, colorful afghans, and other decorative pieces that were inspired by the hippie years. Check it out, man. You won't want to miss this bus of awesome.

Far Out Hippie Clothes Patterns

This section includes the grooviest outfits that you can make any time! Ponchos, vests, tanks, and bell bottoms fill this list. If you love retro styles, then you don't have to worry about scouring your local thrift stores. Instead, you can make your own 1960s- and 1970s-style crochet shirt to wear any day of the week.

One of the best things about hippie clothing patterns is that they still work with the styles of today. Sure, it's retro, but you won't be overwhelmingly out of place. People will love your unique style and envy the warmth you gain by making and wearing a hip and colorful hippie poncho crochet pattern.

Hippie Fringe Bag Crochet Patterns & More Hip Accessories

When we think of fringe, one of the most common associations is with hippies. Back in the '60s and '70s, fringe was in and it was used to decorate clothing, bags, homes, cars, and so much more. If you could, you'd put fringe on it!

These cool hippie-inspired bags have lots of fringe and other hippie-esque decorations, like flowers and butterflies. But that's not all! There are '70s crochet sandals, lots of jive headbands, scarves, and the most hipster belt you've ever seen. These are must-make crochet accessories if you are obsessed with retro style.

Crazy Cool Crochet Afghans and Home Decorations

Afghans became really popular in the 1970s so there are a lot of popular styles today that have that retro feel. Granny squares and rainbows, especially. Not only are there some fab flashback crochet afghans, throws, and blankets, but there are other funky decor items to make for your home or give as gifts.

In this section, you will find the perfect decor for the flower child in your life. Crochet pillows, granny squares, and coasters that are full of peace and love. It will be easy to peace out and enjoy your home with these crochet pieces added to the scene.

Hippie crochet patterns, yay! I immediately clicked the link when I saw those words especially with the word FREE in front of them. There is a variety of items in this article from clothes to bags to home decorating designs. I love the boho look since I grew up in that era so this should keep me busy for a while.

I tease my grown kids by reminding them that Ive lived long enough to be in the middle of my second hippie phase, thus my interest in organic gardening and sustainable lifestyle. This collection really brought back some memoriesespecially the vests and ponchos. Ive worked up a few of the listed creations already. I have just the grandchild in mind for that Peace square, too. Thanks for finding these!
