"If you have every been to Traverse City, Michigan then you know the Cherry Festival is a big deal! Cherry pie, cherry salsa, cherry jam and lots of cherry themed clothes! I wanted to design a cute cherry tote bag that will be great to wear all Summer! Just follow the simple chart with the single crochet stitch, sew together and add on the handles. The bag measures approx. 15″ wide by 14″ tall with a 9″ strap drop."

Oh cute! I suddenly have a craving for a sweet cherry pie now darn it. Looks like the cherries design is crocheted into the tote as it is worked instead of cross stitched on afterward. The size is just about right also at 15 x 14 x 9. Cotton yarn is used to make this bag and I have plenty of that already.

My mom was a huge fan of all things cherry. Cherry Coke, cherry pie, and above all else, her bright cherry lipstick! She would have loved this handy tote because she was famous for all the unusual things shed carry in her purse. The designer has provided an excellent chart graphic (separate .pdf link), and I can easily see me using this graphic on many other projects.

I think I might be giving this a try! I only need to buy a handful of Lily Sugar 'N Cream to make a fabulous vintage looking cherry tote bag. I see this as the perfect market bag, too. Hey, why not fill it with cherries?! Take this design concept, but make it into a pillow cover, too!
