Simple Stars

search

"These simple crochet stars are the perfect scrap yarn project! Each star uses between 0.1 ounces and 0.5 ounces of yarn. Vary the yarn size and your hook size and you can have a fun pile of scrappy yarn stars. They are perfect for holiday decorating or party decorating. My stars were made to decorate for the 4th of July but I have also used them as Christmas Tree ornaments. Hang them alone, add them to lights, or string them as garland!"

Cute stars. I like the ease in which they can be made with so little yarn and the fact that you can customize them so easily and in so many different ways. By changing up the color or the texture of the yarn these can be used for lots of things from banners to appliques.

Appliques are a wonderful way to use up bits of yarn, and this designer has come up with a couple of different variations on the same simple theme. Stars can be used in a myriad of ways, and personally, Id like to see some designs for using stars to create other shapes and motifs (like one of my favorite designers does with hearts!)

Simple stars that truly are oh so simple! I happen to like the red, white, and blue patriotic looking ones. She also shows us that you can use up your textured yarns, too. There's one that is a fuzzy one. There are multiple uses for an applique project such as this one. You are only limited by your own imagination. Just 6 quick rows and you are done!
