I've been thinking that I should invest some time and energy into some hats for my wardrobe. This pattern might be a good jumping off point. I've been thinking I want ones for different seasons and this one with its loosely woven crown would be a great one for summer. That will allow your head heat to escape. I've never used yarn double stranded so that will be a new experience for me. The rest of the directions seem to be well written and forthright. Carpe diem!

What is cool about this breezy summer wide brim hat, is the fact that it is not too large and floppy. Sometimes sun hats can look like they are only meant to be worn on the boat with your swimsuit. This one is understated with the pale pink color and the face framing design. She uses a basic worsted weight yarn, double stranded. The body of the hat is like a granny stitch, too.
