How sweet of a pattern and model! This baby blanket looks like a very warm, snuggly one. I do like the way the light gray color offsets the main color chosen. It would work well with almost any other color since it's considered a neutral one. I really like the 40" square size too. That seems to be just a tad larger than most I've seen lately!

I notice that designers of crochet baby blankets always use gray to accentuate the solid color used. For example gray and pink, gray and yellow, gray and white. But I find it really so beautiful. In fact I've made a yellow and gray combo baby blanket that my daughter gave to her friend's baby on her christening day. That was lovely! I wanna make one of the same project again.

Please I'm at a lost! Don't know if I bought enough yarn there's not many left in stock. Are the balls 3.5 oz or larger? Thanks much!!

Comprised of single crochets, skipped stiches and double crochets, not here's nothing out of the ordinary here. Great project for a soon to be new mom and her baby. Not only can you work on your blanket while you're growing your baby, but crocheting is also a great stress buster.

So gorgeous and with an Easy crochet rating too? How fabulous is that! We have winter on the way here in South Africa and darling little Sophie is going to be so snug and cuddly wrapped up in this Chunky Cozy Baby blanket. Come to think of it I may even make one for myself. For the sofa. To snuggle under, lol!

Very cute chunky and cozy baby blanket. Bernat yarns are very good quality yarns with lots of color choices and are very easy to work with. I love coming to this site to get free patterns and love it even more when the patterns are included with the posting and not via a link to the bloggers site which is usually full of popups and ads. Thanks.

Nice baby blanket pattern, which uses chunky yarn to help this pattern to grow faster. One problem, I do not know what is meant by sp? I wish there is a list of abbreviations available for this pattern or on this site. I tried to find one but could not.

SP means space

Since I started crocheting around 10 years ago, I have only made two blankets. One was the first project I ever did, which i did entirely in slip stitch,on accident, for my son,who wasn't born yet and one i made for my daughter that I actually was really proud of( made in actual stitches.lol). But, it made me decide I didn't really like making blankets much because they take so long and use a ton of yarn. But, I really love the chevron and lace stitch pattern, combined with the colors of this baby blanket. I really want to try this pattern. The stitch pattern seems like it is easy enough to remember, but varies enough to keep it interesting. Once i get started, i will let you know how it turns out.

i made a twinkle star afghan fin on 31/12/14

I do believe this is the one I've been looking for. A real pretty one too.
