This is a nice basic tutorial on how to choose which crochet hook for your project. In most instructions, the designer will tell you which to use. But for many projects, the yarn size doesnt matter so you will need to choose your own hook. I remember getting very frustrated with trying to match up the hook size by letter with the millimeters because they werent always consistent!
