I see that there is a messy bun hat to match the little girl hat that is seen here. How adorable for mommy and daughter to wear their matching beanies together! It is young looking, fresh, and done up with simple in the round single crochets (or is it double? I forget). You can skip the flower if you are making one for a boy! White and blue, blue and green, the colors are endless for the boys as well!

There is not a reason that a little one does not have a hat. This stripes and flower crochet beanie pattern is one of those that was made with just a little bit of material. This may be the new item that I consider my scrap buster. These will be great donation hats also.

I like baby beanie patterns. They do not take up a lot of yarn and are really easy to make. So, when and if I have any material left over from a project I will make a baby beanie and save it to give away to charity when those drives start up. If the material is not a "baby" yarn, I soften it up with a conditioner before gifting. I small way to give back to the community.

I love this pattern because I can use it to make beanies for baby girls and boys. The baby girls get a colorful flower and the baby boys can get a two or more colorful beanie.

This is very pretty and after reading the pattern it is indeed very easy. I am thinking of making a bunch of flowers in different colors and sewing the center button on the hat. Then you can slip the flower over it and change the colors at will. Thank you for sharing.

Great idea!
