"The Snow Drops Slouch Hat works up with stunning texture and uses less than one cake of Caron Cakes yarn. Of course you could also use your preferred worsted weight yarn. This free crochet pattern was designed to match my popular Snow Drops Mod Scarf. I even have a right and left handed video tutorial to teach you how to crochet the star stitch in the round. This pattern also requires a 5.0mm crochet hook and an optional pom pom maker."

The fascinating thing about the texture of this hat is that it has an almost Fair Isle look about it. Although the designer uses self striping cake yarn, you could almost work it up in a single color and still get the same lovely textured effect. Theres also an embedded video (for both right and left hand) showing how to work the Star Stitch in the round. This is useful for both this project and the matching mittens
