Celtic Dream Crochet Beanie Pattern
Celtic Dream Crochet Beanie Pattern

Thick, plush stitches with a woven appearance are worked up in a dreamy teal shade to make up this gorgeous Celtic Dream Crochet Beanie Pattern. This intermediate crochet pattern looks a little tricky, but simply pay attention to the pattern directions and you'll be fine. This head-turning crochet beanie pattern is written up in sizes from newborn all the way through adult, so anyone in your family can be a trendsetter in this crochet hat. Use your favorite winter shade to create this cozy hat.

NotesNotes:
-The hat is worked from the brim up; make the foundation chain loosely to allow for stretching.
-The beginning chain of each round or row does not count as a stitch.
-The end of each round is joined by slip stitching in the first stitch of the round, not the beginning chain.

Will not let me print no matter what I do. Would love to make this hat!

Can anyone give the directions to add the visor and button band?

Wowza! Wowza! Wowza! This Celtic Dream Crochet Beanie is just that dreamy! I definitely know who I'm gifting this beanie to. My eldest daughter is into all things Celtic! What a beautiful weave pattern and color. It's a bit unusual in that it's created from the brim to the crown...not sure I've done that before but I'm up to trying something new. That's exciting! I agree Cheryl Y it is soooo nice to have all these sizes right at my fingertips too!

What a great looking pattern. In the materials listed are buttons, yet there's no mention of buttons or their placement in the pattern...

I, too am puzzled due to no mention of the button placement on the hat, only listed in the materials? Cute pattern and love all the sizes, included, pretty in teal too!

What a beautiful pattern to make up for St. Patrick's Day. Where I live in Maine it could very well be cold enough to wear it. My Irish heritage family members will love that it is a Celtic type design. I'm always looking for things for Christmas gifts too and this would be an excellent hat for a present.

You've got to be able to keep your place while working this beautiful pattern. There are half-double crochets, Front Post HDC, and Front Post Treble crochets in use. Again, a full array of sizes are provided, so anyone/anysize will be able to sport this winter hat. How lovely would this be in a deep berry color? Stunning! Does Red Heart Soft come in a deep berry or cranberry color?

Since Im already making the boot cuffs for my sisters birthday, I might as well make her a matching hat, right? She never gets tired of anything Celtic so I know shell like it. Her biggest problem will be keeping this gorgeous hat away from her daughter, the suitably named Brigid. Of course, I could make another set for my niece, couldnt I?

Im having a little trouble understanding round 6 for the teen/small adult. I did round 5 with no problem but where it says "working in front of the posts just made, FPtrc in the last 2 skipped stitches," I'm confused where I'm suppose to do the FPtrc. It says work in front but then jn the last 2 skipped stiches. The skipped are behind. Im lost. Please help

I don't get it either..

I love the way this hat looks! Do you have a youtube video available??

I am definitely giving this hat a five-star rating because of the color, texture and design. Color because teal is always one of those uncommon shades of blue used in fabrics and crochet projects, texture because the stitch used gives a beautiful finished look to the beanie, and design because of the type of stitch used. This Celtic Dream Crochet Beanie Pattern is one design that will look gorgeous on a male of female. It is a unisex pattern, something that the wearer can show off whenever and wherever he/she wears it. Thanks to that quite lengthy pattern.

I am very excited to make this had for my daughter but I have never seen FPtrc before. I have looked in all my crochet books and cannot find the direction for this stitch. HELP

Hi j14bacci, The FPtrc is the Front Post Triple/Treble Crochet stitch. To do this, you yarn over your hook two times and then insert your hook behind the post of the stitch (the post of the stitch, not under the top bar of the stitch, where you would normally go into). Then yarn over, pull up a loop to have four loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops again. Yarn over and pull through the last two loops. I hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

Very nice, Thank you.

Wow this Celtic Dream Crochet Beanie Pattern is great! I love the pattern of this hat, it is so great to have all size hats here and I right clicked on the pattern and saved it to my computer. I will be making this beautiful hat and think it will be one people ask me to make for them as well. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I love that the crochet instructions are listed right here under the pattern. This looks fairly challenging because it uses FP trc . I have yet to make a winter hat that doesn't stretch out and become too loose! I'll be experimenting to get the right size this time, I think I actually need to try a size smaller than I think. I love the criss-cross design.
