Andi Bun Hat

search

A fun variant on my first bun hat design, the Andi features color work and striping. Adding stripes to the bobble design makes this hat really look outstanding. You can easily follow the color story provided or come up with your own unique styling. The possibilities are endless. Beginning around an elastic hair tie, this bun hat features a generous and stretchy bun hole. The brim is ribbed for a comfortable fit with a cozy and cute texture.

I just love the color combination on this hat! My hair is too short for a messy bun hat, but that wont stop me from working this one up. Ill just use the adaptation for a solid section that the designer thoughtfully includes in her instructions. This hat does use a true Bobble Stitch but because its stretched across different colors, it doesnt seem like such a Yarn Hog.

This color combination is to die for. So rich and jewel toned, I love it! It occurs to me, if you do not want this to be a bun hat I suppose you could adapt that and just crochet all the way and then close up the top. Pop a yarn pompom on the top and you are good to go. best of all, this pattern uses the super saver yarn!

What a great concept this is to crochet around a standard hair tie to make this a combo project. Now I have something to use up all these hair ties I have lying around. These will absolutely make great gifts for all of my daughters friends for Christmas this year.
