I did the initial ch 40 in a contrasting color. It was much easier for me to do the sc's.

In the materials list - what is 25mm ref. 30530 pack of 3? How much total yarn? It looks like 3 skeins, but I'm confused because I would need 2 of each color to have 2 strands together and there are 3 colors in the purse. Also, you mention the purse is lined but I don't see a reference for how much/what kind of fabric for lining. Sorry, but I live an hour away from civilization and need to make one shopping trip.

I would LOVE to be able to print this out, but find no place for printing. I tried copy and paste, but that did not work worth a pooh. I do not care about pintrest, google, fb, twitter, etc. I just want to print the pattern so I have it with me when I am not near the computer. sighhhh

Hi Shaye! This is actually only part of the pattern - it will be released bit by bit over 4 weeks as part of the crochet along we are doing. At the very end we will release the pattern as a whole. If you would still like to print part 1 of this project, you can do so easily by hovering over the little "P" icon under the comment stars and selecting the Print option from there. :) I hope that helps! Confused - do we not count the chains as stitches? Do we skip them and only crochet in the sc's? The stitch count is way under how many there really are. Sorry if this is a stupid question but my bottom is so wavy if I crochet in every stitch

I found that confusing as well. After doing the third row, I ripped it out and redid it, only doing the chains in the corners. This gave me the stitch count as stated and a flat base.

You will need 110 stitches at the end of round 5 to be able to make the first row of shell stitches work. Increase at each end of the piece, do not sc ch 1 along he sides or it will ruffle.
