Trumpeting Elephant

Trumpeting Elephant
Trumpeting Elephant

"The Trumpeting Elephant was born out of a desire to make something simple and adorable for an upcoming baby shower. This little fellow has a trunk that is build right into his head, so little hands can carry him around by it and not tear it off. It also works up very well with any yarn, even tiny baby-weight yarns. It looks great on a baby mobile too! His head is positioned upward to keep him from falling over with that majestic trunk of his. :)"

This project pattern is virtually identical to the designers other project, Trumpeting Elephant. This is a fairly easy pattern to follow, but it really needs some photos for the assembly part of the project. This designer has some really cute ideas! I love those little seals and the oysters at the bottom of the page. Wouldnt they look cute with some pearl beads?

Oh my goodness how sweet. I love the faces on them. I have two year old twin grand sons so these will make great gifts for their birthday or Christmas. I always use safety eyes so I have them. And according to legend, elephants with trunks in the air are good luck!

You're right about the elephant tradition. I have several small statues in my curio cabinet, and even Ganesha is often portrayed with his trunk elevated.
