Snowflake Lace Throw

"Can you crochet a blanket for everyone on your holiday gift list? With the free crochet blanket pattern for the Snowflake Lace Throw, it’s a distinct - and beautiful - possibility! The Snowflake Lace Throw uses the negative spaces - the openings in the lace - to create a beautiful blanket that can be made in just 2 days using Super Bulky yarn! In just one weekend you can have a lovely statement piece of decor for your own home, or an heirloom piece to give as a gift to those you love. Lion Brand Heartland Thick & Quick is the starring yarn here, a soft, silky, 100% acrylic that will fly off your hook, in your choice of colors. Go neutral with Katmai or Acadia, or go bold and bright, it’s up to you! "

This is a beautiful blanket and the stitch multiple is easy enough and so helpful in customizing this pattern. This stitch is lovely and would work on other projects also like shawls and ponchos. Its unbelievable that a bulky yarn could produce such a delicate looking pattern. I would not use bulky, I will choose a light weight yarn to make it softer and snugglier.

I made the mistake of showing my husband the photo for this exquisite throw, and now he wants to know when Ill be working it up. I told him A) not until AFTER the holidays, and B) a certain Santa Honey needs to supply me with plenty of gift cards to the local craft stores! This throw will, however, make a very nice Valentines Day present.

This is beautiful in so many ways. It's very easy, it takes no time at all and not that much yarn. I like the open design since I live in Florida and don't need a heavy afghan. Infact, I may make it and then use it as a wall hanging. Thank you.

Should I decided to make this Snowflake Lace Throw, I would use a white or ecru yarn. I like lace patterns and this one will be in my long line of list of projects.

The photo shown Why gray? Plus, I've had an afgan with large spaces. Kept catching on things. Use finer thread, and please, a color!

Hi Tracy, This is simply the way the designer chose to make this project, and the photo she used when submitting it to us. The best thing about these patterns it that they're completely customizeable - I'd love to see your colorful version! :) Julia, AFC editor
