Just the other day I was in one of those big box stores and I saw a mermaid tail blanket. I still think they rank up there with the snuggley and are useless but I have to admit they are adorable when made for youth. This may be a way to get the kids to sit still if only for a little while.

This tail really looks like a real fish. The colors used will pass for the real silvery fish color. I did not see the body but if this does not have one, I think it's useless. It does not complete the whole ensemble if it's only the tail that's shown here.

The variegated blues of this crocheted mermaid tail gives this project major style. Not at all sure it could be completed in one evening even though no counting is needed and the chunky yarn and large crochet hook would seemingly make this a speedy project. Free pattern download is somewhat challenging.

Yes, this is really a great looking mermaid tail blanket. The colors are there, the texture on the tail is there. No, there are no scales to stitch, and that is okay with me. I've tried the crocodile tears (I think that is what some people call them) and they are tough! I lost my drive and gave up after only 15 minutes. I will say though, in the nicest way possible- I wish her YouTube video was filmed where her work was actually in the frame so I could see what she was doing. That was a bummer, and not helpful for me.

This is so great. I have looked at so many different patterns for this but they were complicated and too long. I have an eleven year old grand daughter who will love this. If I get to it right away, she can have it for Christmas! Thank you so much for sharing this.

I imagine my youngest granddaughter would love to have this mermaid tail blanket. With a large crochet hook and four strands of yarn wow, really four strands - the adorable mermaid tail would crochet up quickly. Love the way the fins are added to the body. This is really a charming pattern.

This is such a pleasant surprise! I've seen so many patterns for Mermaid Tails and this looks to be quite easy. I like that is doesn't take a large amount of yarn. This is great to make for gifts for the toddlers in my family. I am amazed that it can be done in an evening. I've pinned this one for future gifts. I'm happy that it isn't so intimidating, mainly for expenses.

Wow finely a easy and quick pattern for the Mermaid Tail! This pattern is well written and easy to follow, and it doesn't take tons of yarn to make it which is a big plus! I saved this pattern and will be making it with all the half scans of yarn I have I don't have to go buy any! Looking forward to making a few of these for the grand daughters. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.
