The Parker Newborn Hat
The Parker Newborn Hat

This is one of our most popular newborn crochet patterns! It's also one of the easiest patterns out there. Using under a skein of yarn, working up almost instantly, and being absolute cute are just a few of the reasons why our readers love this darling little beanie. Check out the pattern for yourself! Plus, watch the video tutorial from Sewrella at the bottom of the page!

From the Blogger: "This newborn hat is easy, quick and versatile, named 'The Parker' after my own son-to-be! This beanie is basic and gender neutral, great with or without additional embellishments like appliques or buttons. This is a great beginner project as it mostly uses double crochets."

In Parker pattern do u count turning chain as 1st dc

Since this pattern is so easy and does not require a lot of yarn, you can make several in all of the baby colors as a baby gift for a new mother. She would then have a baby hat for every new baby outfit.

Ive worked up a regular sized version of the Parker Hat, so I was very happy to see the Newborn version has now been posted. I love the understated look of this nicely textured hat. The designer has included an instructional video on the hat, and dont forget to check out the matching booties and diaper cover. You can work them in any color but I really like how the solid grey allows the texture to stand out.

I just now started making this exact hat in a variegated blue color. It will be part of a gift to one of my coworkers whose wife just had their third baby boy. I already made the cute diaper cover. If I have enough yarn left, I will be making the little booties.

This is such a cute pattern. It's so easy and works up very quickly. I also have the pattern for the booties and diaper cover so I will be making a set to give at a baby shower. I know the mom to be will really like it. Thank you for sharing this one.
