  1. Size: 1 - 2 lbs (1 kg)
    Head Circumference = 9" - 10" (23-25 cm)
    Hat Circumference = 8.5" (21.5 cm)
    Height hat = 3.75" (9.5 cm)

    Start with a Magic Ring
    Round 1: With Color A - Ch 1, 11 dc in ring, join in first dc and fasten off (11)
    Round 2: With Color B - Ch 1, *dc in first stitch, FPdc around same stitch (increase made)* repeat around, join (22)
    Round 3: Ch 1, *dc in first stitch, dc in next stitch, FPdc around same stitch (increase made)* repeat around, join (33)
    Round 4 - 10: Ch 1, *dc in first 2 stitches, FPdc around post from previous round* repeat around, join (33)
    Round 11: Ch 1, sc around, join (33)
    Fasten off and continue with stem instructions below.

  2. Size: 2 - 3 lbs (1.4 kg)
    Head Circumference = 10" - 11.25" (25-28 cm) 
    Hat Circumference = 9.5" (24 cm)   
    Hat Height = 4" (10 cm)

    Start with a Magic Ring
    Round 1: With Color A - Ch 1, 12 dc in ring, join in first dc and fasten off (12)

Stem

Round 1: Ch 2, make 5 sc in the 2nd chain from hook, do not join, continue working in a spiral (5)
Round 2 & 3: Sc around, do not join (5)
Round 4: Sc around, when you get back to the start, sl st in the next st, do not fasten off, continue with Vine #1 instructions.

Vine #1

Ch 13, make 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, make 3 sc in each chain back to start, sl st in the next stitch on the bottom of the stem, continue with Vine #2 instructions.

Vine #2

Ch 9, make 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, make 3 sc in each chain back to start, sl st in the next stitch on the bottom of the stem and fasten off. Use the yarn tail to sew the stem onto the hat. Weave in all ends.

This is such an adorable baby hat! My sister is due around Halloween, and I think this would be the perfect thing to make for her! I might have to adjust it for a newborn size, but I do not think that will be too difficult. I cant wait to start making some really cute patterns for my niece or nephew!

This is ridiculously adorable! It would be perfect for a simple pumpkin Halloween costume or even just to wear throughout October.
