Ombre Shawl
Crochet Ombre Shawl

"Using the new Caron Cakes by Yarnspirations I designed this shawl to take full advantage of the natural ombre effect of this yarn. This shawl can be adjusted and made longer if desired. The shawl is an easy pattern to complete using a Granny Style stitch. The ombre effect is continued with the tassles. This shawl uses only 2 Caron Cakes which makes it quick, fun and easy to crochet."

Such a simple but elegant Ombre Shawl. I like this for its size, easy pattern and color. Most shawls I've seen are very short, and cannot even protect from the elements but this one, I'd like to include this in my list of projects. Can't wait.

I almost didnt want to comment on this because it reminds me so much of similar ponchos from the 1970s. My sister in law worked one up in a medium purple, and I just remember how heavy the darn thing was. The new ombre yarns make it a much more attractive shawl than the old projects. Since this is based on the Granny Stitch, its easy for anyone to work up.

Now I have made this shawl for three, no FOUR, different friends of mine. One I did in the Cookies 'N Cream, one in the Blueberry, one in the Rum Raisin, and the other color I do not recall the name! All of my friends LOVED their granny square shawls. I wear mine as a triangle scarf, with plenty to wrap and drape. I get lots of compliments on it.

Using the Caron Cakes for crochet projects makes all of your projects look all the more better without a lot of extra work on your behalf. This is just one of those items that looks like you had to put a lot of thought and time into completing the project. I just love Caron Cakes yarns.

I am a true fan of "quick, fun and easy to crochet." I have a twenty something step daughter and this is just her style. Her birthday is fast approaching and this can be made really quickly if I set my mind to it. I know I can have it ready before the big day.

This is a fun and easy pattern. I have been making them for years. I just bought some Caron Cakes yarn earlier today because I found some on clearance for a going out of busy sale. I am going to make one soon. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the blessings of prayer shawls.

It is no secret that I do love the Caron Cakes yarns offered exclusively at Michael's. I can make this awesome fringe shawl using 2 cakes. They can be had from time to time on sale for 7.99 each. Not a bad investment money-wise. I would do a shawl in every colorway since I cannot make up my mind which one I like the best.

Very interesting pattern for this Crochet Ombre Shawl. After reading the pattern, it sounds like it is a corner to corner type of shawl. I have been looking for a easy shawl pattern for my daughter who is just learning to crochet and I think this may be the one to show her. I notice there is not a chart for the crochet abbreviations, so I'll have to add them for her. Other then that, I think this would be a nice pattern for a beginner crocheter. I love the Caron Cakes yarn, it have quit a few coordinating colors that will look perfect for this shawl. Thank you for this free crochet pattern.
