Art n' Soul Scrappy Scarf

search

"Recently I've been looking at art yarn/scrappy scarves on Pinterest. If you love texture and color as much as I do, these are a must see! "Art yarn" is basically yarn that is custom made with all kinds of colors and textures of wool, and even fabric fibers. It tends to be uneven in the way it's spun, which only ads to the charm. Because it is spun by hand, "art yarn" tends to be somewhat spendy. This fact inspired me to come up with a new way of creating something similar using odds and ends of novelty yarn that are left over from various projects. Your scarf will be unique to your own collection, and that's what makes this pattern so special!"

NotesIf you use a heavier yarn to begin with, you could turn this into a belt.
This pattern can easily be made longer or shorter to fit your needs.

This scarf is SO PRETTY and SO UNIQUE! Oh my gosh! I love it!

What a very pretty and very unique look. I have tons of left over RN to use. I think some of the previous posters missed the point of this project. They are saying how expensive homespun yarn. The author did not say to buy it. She was saying she copied the look by using different scraps of her own.

This looks more like a fiber arts project than wearable garment. Im in a local fiber arts group and am well acquainted with how pricey homespun yarn can be. The wonderful thing about this scarf is that you dont need a tremendous amount. Spend a little time in the yarn aisle and you might be surprised at what commercially available textures are out there already. Homespun is a wonderful line and there are several others, too.

Wow. I really love the look of this scarf. Now this is a scarf I can appreciate with its boho look. Even though it is way too hot here to need a scarf, I have got to make myself one of these beauties. Maybe I will make mine into a blanket or a shawlette. My budget for yarn isnt very big right now with the Holidays coming up but I will start saving now.
