"Learning how to crochet a Spiral Rope is an essential part of crocheting, especially if you like making bags, amigurumi or even create fun other items that can be made out of ropes. You can adjust this rope to be as thin or as thick as you like. It comes with a detailed photo and video tutorial for it as well. Bes sure to take a look and see if you can make your next crochet bag a lot sturdier and better looking."

I know there are a multitude of uses for this. My first thought would be to create an actual jump rope. Depending on the yarn you select the finished project could be for a strap on a bag or a edging for a clothing article like a hat. I want to try to make it just to see if mine will look this neat.

This is probably one of the most practical techniques any crafter can have. Just think about how many places you can use a rope like this. Worked using large yarn, you have a sturdy handle for a bag. Worked using finer thread, and its a marvelous base for a necklace or bracelet. If you havent already mastered this technique, get cracking!

As a child, I can remember a little gadget that would allow you to create a spiral of this kind. I have seen these gadgets in the toy aisles at the dollar store and never gave much thought to the great use of these. I know the kid version would never create an item that would really be usable so this is a great tutorial and I have it marked for future use. Thanks for this pattern.

You can still buy the gadget, but I remember making one from 4 finishing nails and a wooden spool when I lived in Bermuda. They called the resulting coils Horses' Tails.

I needed this patter! Just judging on the picture, that looks like a very sturdy spiral rope. It would make an interesting handle for a purse or tote that I make. I have been crocheting for most of my life and have never seen a pattern for a rope before. Thats odd to me since I see it is described as an essential part of crocheting. Why havent I seen this before? LOL
