"I had so much fun designing this hat. I received so many requests for a "Messy Bun" hat that I had to design something for all of my YouTube subscribers and FB fans. I came up with this design. I wanted to make something that was fun, fast and easy. This hat uses approximately 3 1/2 ounces of medium weight yarn. Choose your favorite colors or perhaps your school or team colors. This hat works up so quickly and it seems to be a big hit this time of year. I hope you enjoy this hat."

I had a friend ask me to make some of these hats the other day, and Im excited to get started on them! This pattern is super easy, Im almost finished with the first one, and it has only taken me a couple hours to do! I cant wait to make a bunch more in different colors!

I love this hat. I always wear my hair up, so I never wear a regular beanie/hat. I made this for myself out of some vintage wool that I had, and it is wonderful. I hardly ever take it off when the weather is cold. This is a very easy pattern that anyone could make.

Wow, I see pictures and patterns for these hats everywhere. I have yet to actually see anyone in person wearing one though. Could be a regional thing. The colors chosen for this hat are awesome and so boho chic. If I had long enough hair for a bun/pony tail, I would definitely want one in these colors.

This is the first time I have followed one of your patterns or tutorials. Love it. Very easily explained. Very easy to follow. I will definitely put you in my list to watch for patterns

how do I print out the pattern Messy Bun Hat

Hi carol, You have to click the link that says "Click here for crochet pattern" in order to actually access the pattern on the blogger's site. From there, you can highlight the pattern and then right click and click print. Hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

Talk about a coincidence. My daughter in law just asked me today if I make messy bun hats. I had no idea what she was talking about. Then I saw this. I said, oh, you mean a pony tail hat? I must say this is a very easy one to make and I love double crochet. So now I have to hurry and make one up for my daughter in law for Christmas.thanks for sharing this easy pattern.
