Knit-Look Super Bulky Slouch

"After designing the Knit-Look Super Bulky Slouch for adults, I decided that the kids couldn’t be left out of the fun! I had to stop at the store to grab… yarn, ummmm yeah, we’ll go with that (we won’t mention that the real reason I stopped was for a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream..shhh…). So I popped over to the yarn aisle and grabbed 2 balls of Lion Brand Hometown USA. I grabbed 2 because I wanted to make sure I had enough to make a big, floppy yarn pom and there’s less yardage in Hometown USA than in the Thick & Quick I used for the adult hat. I choose the color Miami Seafoam and it’s an absolutely GORGEOUS color. You really need to see it in person!"

Unlike several of the other knit look bulky sort of like that snowboarders hat, this one is worked flat and then seamed before gathering at the top. For this particular look, I actually think this method works the best. Working that Back Loop Only really gives it a ridged knit look. Im not overly fond of the furry poms seen on a lot of kids hats though. I much prefer what the designer has chosen for this one.

I like the fact that this is sold or presented to us a child's hat, but when in fact if you are an adult with a head on the smaller side, like me, this would probably work for you! She clearly and plainly tells you how to make your circumference bigger around, too.

What a pretty design and a gorgeous color too. I use to knit but crochet goes much faster for me so I switched. But I missed the look of certain knit stitches. This resembles them perfectly. It has a rib stitching look. I have got to make this. Thank you for sharing.
