Color Block Slouchy Hat
"This beginner-friendly hat is crocheted flat and then seamed. Follow the Pattern Notes to easily customize this pattern to fit another sized head. This is the first pattern in the 2019 International Crochet Month Designer Showcase with Underground Crafter, 31 days of free and discounted patterns with great prizes to celebrate our love of crochet! Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet Crocheting flat in rows, seaming (with linked tutorials)."
Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)
Crochet GaugeGauge 12 sts = 4” (10 cm) across in pattern. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
Finished SizeAdult: 22” (56 cm) hat circumference x 11” (28 cm) height with instructions for adjusting to fit other head sizes
- Patons Alpaca Blend yarn (60% acrylic/22% wool/10% nylon/8% alpaca, 3.5 oz/100 g, 155 yd/142 m) – 1 skein each in 01018 Ultraviolet (CA) and 01002 Smoke (CB), or approximately 138 yd (126 m) in each of 2 colors in any bulky weight yarn
- US K-10.5/6.5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge
- Yarn needle
- Clover Extra-Large Pom Pom Maker (optional)
