I love old vintage crochet patterns and love the look of this one. After reading the written pattern I can tell I'll have a problem, can someone please tell me what I'm suppose to do here? (Next row Skip 3 shells for underarm, attach thread and work across 10 shells, ch 1, turn. Work back and forth over the 10 shells for 3 1/2 inches, cut thread. Attach thread at base of back opening, work over 10 shells (3 shells remain for underarm). Complete this side to correspond, cut thread.) What stitch is to be worked across 10 shells? I'm lost but so want to make one of these beautiful dressed for my grand daughter.. Thank you and thanks for this free pattern.

this part of the pattern is very confusing, it says to work over the shells, but it doesn't tell you what stitch to use. Could you please explain this to me.
