Im not crazy about these colors, but I do like how this project is designed. Theres enough variety in the stitches used that it would look very nice in a solid white or ecru. You could certainly use colors to match your own dcor, or if you wanted a holiday look, go with those colors instead. Because this is an Easy project, Im going to include it with the patterns I have set aside for my crochet students.

I am wondering what all your experiences have been with different blocking techniques? Decades ago, when I was making holiday snowflakes for my mom's Christmas tree, they required a good stiffening up so that they would hold shape while being displayed on her tree. I used a glue and water solution and just dipped them.

My mom used liquid starch and just soaked the heck out of them. I remember she tried sugar water, but then ants!
