How to Foundation Single Crochet
Instead of starting your crochet projects with a crochet chain and then working your first row on top of that, you can combine the two into one step by working what is known as a foundation single crochet row. The foundation single crochet stitch is both your base chain row and your first single crochet row in one step! This is also known as chainless crochet, and it's a good way to prevent missed stitches and keep consistent tension. Follow along with Heidi Gustad as she works us through creating a foundation single crochet row to see just how easy it really is!

I am so glad to see, so far at least, that almost every page that I have visited on this site has been updated for 2018 already. When it comes to starting a project, I am going to have to stay old school with it. I prefer a beginning chain over working a foundation chain any day.
