Crochet in the Round Tutorial

  1. Wrap the yarn around a couple of your fingers and bring the tail through the middle of that ring.

  2. Chain 3.

  3. Double crochet into the ring six times.

  4. Pull the tail of your magic ring to tighten.

  5. Finish by slipping into the third chain of the initial three that you did.

  6. To move on to the next row, chain 3.

  7. Yarn over and work 2 double crochet stitches in every single stitch.

This will help to grow the number of stitches and help your piece grow outward in a ciruclar shape.

  8. To finish this row, slip into that third intial chain. You will be doing this to finish every row you create.

  9. As you continue to work through this and grow your round, add one stitch that is a plain double crochet and then working two in one tor grow the round one more.

What a great tutorial on what we think is a very simple beginning to so many crochet patterns when it is, in fact, the very basis of how to crochet in the round. If you are still learning to crochet, or have not crocheted for a while or if, like me, you are just interested in seeing what is out there then do read these tutorials. I am often surprised in how they often make something much easier and simpler to do.
