So easy to make. It looks complicated but it's far from that. I really enjoy making different glowers in crochet. No watering or trimming and no bugs. And in this case no awful smell from it like the real marigolds. That's the biggest advantage for me. The smell makes me sick.

Wowza! Wowza! Wowza! This Popcorn Stitch Blue Marigold is amazing! It's so timeless and can be used as embellishment for sooo many things-- hats, purses, scarves. With all the color combinations possible and places to embellish the sky is the limit on possibilities! I've not tried the popcorn stitch yet so I may wait and just try to master the stitch and then again this might be the perfect way to do it!

This pattern looks so hard to make. It is so pretty. I will have to try to make it. I have this project I am working on and will need four large flowers.

I doubt if even the Chelsea show has ever seen a blue marigold, but the shape of this project certainly does mimic the real flower. I love marigolds and have them in my garden every year. This is such a simple pattern that Ill be working these up in yellow, gold, orange, pale buttercream, and even using a skein of Red Heart Marakesh I have leftover from another project.
