Single Skein Market Bag

Of all the crochet purse patterns out there, this is the simplest one you'll find. The Single Skein Market Bag is a double-crochet purse that even beginners out there can make. The double-crochet stitch means that this bag will end up being very roomy and perfect for shopping. This crochet pattern also includes a suggestion for how to make and apply a pretty crochet flower, if you want to add an accent. You can add an optional liner, but it isn't necessary.

I love the look of this market bag and if you have your supplies already on hand, then it shouldnt take but about an hour to complete. The bag is worked in double crochet and finished off with a cute flower in a contrasting color. If you dont want to make this yourself, the designer sells these on Etsy also.

made this bag. Very simple. I prefer to do rows rather than rounds, but joined as I worked so I didn't have to sew it together at the end. I added a flower loom flower. donated to a charity shop

Using stitch markers is my worst nightmare but I couldn't not make this tote! It definitely gets harder once you start doing continuous rounds but it really is so worth it! Can't Cary too much or it stretches out more then I'd like it to but I always get complaints on it. I love the previous come tees idea of crocheting a initial on it but idea used a crocodile stitch flower. Came out great!

I love that this bag is so simple to make! The double crochet stitches and hook size make it super fast to crochet. Want it longer? Just add more rounds. A kitchen cotton yarn would make this bag nice and sturdy. Great for groceries or a beach tote. Experiment with different size hooks to create a variety of bag sizes. Great one skein pattern!

The website was a little slow but it did load for me so JPKitteeluvverr you might want to try again now. So glad to have found this pattern that says its easy! I'm part of a women's group that meets once a month and then all of those groups meet once in the fall and once in the spring. At our fall meeting we decided that our spring mtg show and tell would be a purse/tote that we create. I'm going to give this pattern a try for that. Now...to choose the one and only skein color. Thanks!

I just clicked on the link to download the pattern, and it took me to a place that said the website has currently been suspended - All I wanted was the pattern, and I know I'm a bit behind others, but I really wanted it b/c of it being only 1 skein for it. That I would like.

Thanks for sharing... just completed this bag in fawn colour... looking good

I picked this pattern out for a small tote for myself and completed the project in less than 2 days. The most difficult part was keeping track of seamless row counting, but it ended up as a very cute finished product! I was so pleased that I actually crocheted an initial to sew on and decided to gift it to my cousin for her birthday.
