Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge12 hdc x 8 rows = 4″ with I-9, 5.5mm crochet hook
Finished Size10.5″ height x 13″ wide including wings
Materials List
- #4-Medium / Worsted / Cotton / yellow color yarn Approx: 60 yards
- #4-Medium / Worsted / Cotton / black color yarn Approx: 75 yards
- Small amount of white yarn
- I-9, 5.5mm crochet hook
- 0.75″ yellow button
- 2 Safty eyes
- Stitch markers
- 20″ long cord for the drawstring / 50″ long strap (I used the straps on old school bag)
- Tapestry needle for weaving ends

Oh this is so cute. I posted about this earlier this year. Then I made it for my two year old twin grand sons to take to day care. Well, one of the moms saw it and pointed it out to others and the next I knew I was being asked to make six more.

What an adorable little backpack. This would be so cute for a little one to take to daycare or preschool. It would also make a nice overnight bag or a bag to put pyjamas in rather than leaving them out on the bed. It would be a cute diaper bag too. The pattern is very straight forward and should work up rather quickly.

OMG! This bumblebee backpack is absolutely precious. I wish I had the skills to make something so adorable and creative. I know my nephew would love to use this for preschool.

This is just about the sweetest thing ever. The instructions are nicely written but there arent any photos of the components, nor is there an instructional video. I dont really anticipate any problems working it up, but it would be helpful to have more photo details about where to place the various components. Right now, there are only text instructions.

Oh no! I just told myself to stop looking thru this site. I have saved enough projects to keep me busy for at least a year. Then I just had to see this . It's too cute not to make. Either my grand kids will use it or their mom will as a diaper bag.

The first 11 rounds are your increase rounds, after which you will be working even for several more. Pretty easy concept. If you can crochet a market bag, you can definitely make this Bumble Bee Backpack. If you like kitsch and you are an adult, I bet you'd love to carry this around as your bag/purse! Super cute.
