By using the bulky yarn to complete this simple go to blanket pattern you will get the finished product done in no time. The neutral gray that was used will compliment almost any homes decor or you can select a color to match your style. This blanket stitch has a lot of texture elements too.

It requires quite a bit of yarn to complete a throw size blanket for this pattern. The cooler months are now just approaching and if you shop around you may luck up on a great sale or at least a sale to offset the cost of the 14 skeins of chunky yarn instead of buying all 14 skeins at the regular sale price.

Yes. This blanket look so cozy and snuggly. I love to lounge with it on the couch. You'd want to hug it the whole day in the winter months. Will look good in other cool colors.

The blanket stitch is a great stitch to use for blankets as it is a tight stitch. The downside is that it is not a very fancy stitch therefore it makes for a not very zazzy blanket. Wool is not a good idea to use for a childs blanket. The new blanket yarns are super soft and have bright colors that kids would love.

Wow I love the look of this Simple Go To Blanket Pattern! I see that it uses chunky yarn, I seen a newer yarn called Blanket yarn that is real chunky for a fair price. I am going to try this pattern using that and see how it turns out. I have never done the blanket stitch before but it is so easy with just two stitches, a single and two doubles that look really great together. I so love learning new ways to put stitches together and create great looking patterns. I have saved this to my must make list! Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I would make this as shown, as a lap blanket. I don't know if I'd be able to get my hands on (spend the $) 14 skeins of yarn to make a full size blanket. I am really a budget crocheter, and I LOVE making my things while getting the most awesome supreme deal on my yarn. I see that the stitch is quite easy! Just your single crochet and two double crochets in the same space, then skip 2 . I cannot believe it creates this effect! Truly beautiful.
