Notes:

  • Ch 3 at beg of rnd counts as dc throughout.
  • 2 colors are worked in each rnd.
  • When changing colors, hold color not in use at WS of work.
  • Motif is worked back and forth, then joined to form rnds.

  1. Make 10 – A: Color 1 and B: Color 2.

  2. Make 18 – B: Color 1 and C: Color 2.

  4. Make 34 – D: Color 1 and E: Color 2.

  5. Make 27 – E: Color 1 and F: Color 2.

  6. Make 18 – F: Color 1 and G: Color 2.

  7. Make 10 – G: Color 1 and H: Color 2.

  8. With Color 1, ch 3. Join with sl st to first ch to form ring. See diagram below.

  9. 1st rnd: (RS). Ch 3. (2 dc. Ch 2. 3 dc) in ring. Ch 1. Drop Color 1. With Color 2, ch 1. (3 dc. Ch 3. 3 dc) in ring. Ch 1. Join with hdc to top of beg ch-3. Turn.

  10. 2nd rnd: (WS). With Color 2, ch 3. 1 dc in beg sp created by ch-1 and hdc at end of last rnd (beg sp).*1 dc in each dc to corner ch-2 sp. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) all in ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each dc to corner ch-2 sp.* 2 dc in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Drop Color 2. With Color 1, ch 1. 2 dc in same ch-2 sp. Rep from * to * once more. 2 dc in beg sp. Ch 1. Join with hdc to top of beg ch-3. Turn.

  11. 3rd rnd: (RS). With Color 1, ch 3. 1 dc in beg sp. *1 dc in each dc to corner ch-2 sp. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) all in ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each dc to corner ch-2 sp.* 2 dc in ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Drop Color 1. With Color 2, ch 1. 2 dc in same ch-2 sp. Rep from * to * once more. 2 dc in beg sp. Ch 1. Join with hdc to top of beg ch-3. Turn.

  12. 4th rnd: As 2nd rnd. Fasten off.

  13. Join Motifs tog as shown in Assembly Diagrams above and below.

Border:

(RS). Join A with sl st to any corner ch-2 sp of Blanket. Ch 3. 1 dc in each dc or ch-2 sp around, working 5 dc in each corner of Blanket. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. Fasten off.

Tassels:

(make 4 with H)

  1. Cut a piece of cardboard 6" [15 cm] wide.

  2. Wind yarn around cardboard 120 times.

  3. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through needle.

  4. Slip needle through all loops and tie end tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops 1" [2.5 cm] below fold.

  5. Fasten securely.

  6. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly.

  7. Sew 1 Tassel to each corner of Blanket.
