I actually prefer these more in the slouch sock style. Super cute and funky worn with your leather booties and a pair of simple leggings or jeggings. They do not seem terribly difficult to make, and the pics she shows are helpful because she uses bright colors and contrasting colors to highlight different steps in how the sock is made. Extremely helpful if you have never attempted socks in the past.

Finely a Chunky Knee High Socks pattern that is easy to follow and understand! The pictures also help with how the heel works. I'm looking forward to making these warm socks for this winter. I like that in the question/comment section after the pattern that the the creator answers the questions and tries to clear up any problems. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I have always wanted to crochet socks. Now I have no excuse. I had a pattern before which I could not make sense out of. This pattern with the photos is perfect. I am a sock wearer and this would be perfect in the cold NY winters. They would be decorative as well. Someone said to me the other day, "Who wears socks anymore?" I do! And I need them thick in the winter. Perfect under boots. Thank you!

Has anyone made these that can tell me if they stay up well on their own, or are they better as a slouchy type sock? I was thinking of making them for myself to go inside of my mukluks as a liner, but I need them to stay up and not fall down so they don't gather around my feet.
