Any time the temperature is below 30 degrees, you'll want to bundle up with the Winter Day Crochet Scarf. Worked up in light grey Bernat Wool-Up Bulky yarn, this simple crochet scarf will keep out the cold. The scarf is worked lengthwise with an N crochet hook to create the striped design in the example. This crochet pattern is easy to make so you won't be without a scarf when the next cold spell hits. Here is a scarf for the man in your life. If you want to, you can do a stripe pattern with a second color to add pizzazz. A nice crisp white stripe would make this scarf a bit more dressy. I prefer a much longer scarf, and that is easy to do because of the simple pattern. Change up your starting chain and make sure to factor in your multiples.

I have completed my own gray ribbed scarf using half double crochets which looks exactly like this Winter Day Crochet Scarf. It is so versatile, it is easy to match with any color of top. You may do this in any color you like.

This is a nice ribbed scarf with very basic instructions. However, the diagram that goes with this pattern is a bit confusing. First of all, I worked the Half Doubles in Row 1 as instructed, but when it came to Row 2, I couldnt find any bars below the top of the stitch. I worked a row using what I thought was the bar and front loop, and worked another row using Front Loop Only. I couldnt see any difference in the ribbing.

This is a perfect scarf for beginners!
