"This pattern is beginner friendly -- very easy. The only stitch you need to know is the single crochet. It takes less than two hours to complete, which makes it great for charitable donations, last minute gifts or something special for yourself. You can use any size 6 super bulky weight yarn and size P (11.5 mm) crochet hook. The thread border is optional and is worked using the size P crochet hook, so no small stitches!"

This Cabernet Cowl will look stunning on an off white or ecru top. It will also look stunningly chic on a mustard or turquoise top. Wow!! I can imagine the envious look of other women.

Im so glad this designer generously decided to post this project. I have loads of that Cabernet colored yarn, but Im thinking it would look amazing in a Royal Blue as well. And how clever is that to actually CROCHET that #10 thread as a border instead of the much more time consuming hand sewing? The white is pretty enough, but I have a few spools of gold and silver that Ill probably use instead.

Ha! Before I even read the written pattern instructions and details, I knew that she used Lion Brand Thick and Quick! I could tell by looking at it. I love that Lion gives us a group of metallic color options in the chunky yarn.I am not a fan of the light colored trim, however, but to each his own!

What a great way to welcome the New Year. This is such a pretty cowl and I love the blanket stitch edging. The pattern looks so simple especially since this cowl is worked up like a scarf with the option to join it or to leave it open to give you different ways to wear this.
