If youre a fan of Granny Squares, youll love working up this easy project. I like the blue beachy tones, but Im going to work at least one up in fall colors like tan, gold and soft brown. I might even have a cake or skein of self striping that might work, too. This is part of a Crochet Along series, so be sure to check out the other projects as well. Theres a link to this years Holiday Stashdown, too!

By the looks of it, I think there is a built in triangle shape in this granny style cowl. That is how it is able to lay flat against your chest and neck. I think I could use the Caron Cakes for this one, easily making at least two- for handmade gifts for two great friends this Christmas!

Maybe for the beaches in New England? The beaches here are much too warm year round to wear something as bulky as this. It is very pretty however, but this would be a gift I would make for a few friends that are what we call snowbirds here. Lovely color.
