I like the traditional Granny Square look but Im not sure it would work as a potholder in this application. I can see a trivet, but the openwork of a Granny could easily result in scorched fingers! My kitchen is already decorated with gingham and Granny Squares, so I might attach one of these to a double layered holder Ive already worked up.

Granny squares are so easy to make. I understand why she says they lean to the right, though they certainly do. I am wondering how this could be a potholder, seeing as most potholders I make are two sided. I feel like this would not be thick enough to protect ones hands from a hot pan being pulled out of the oven.

I love granny squares because they are so versatile. A lot of crochet projects can be made using granny squares. I never thought of this potholder granny square before which is so cute and dainty. Cooking will be enjoyable with a potholder this cute.

Too beautiful for a potholder. But why not? Your kitchen deserves the best stuff as you spend most of the time there to prepare the family's food which should always be prepared with love and affection. Everything around should be conducive to that goal so yeah, why not those colorful potholders?

I haven't seen many potholders this pretty! I almost wouldn't want to use it and get it dirty.
