I love this cute hat, but it really needs more photos to go along with the directions. I was a little thrown by the term Scales but eventually realized the designer meant the spikes on top of the hat, not any sort of overlapping parts (think Crocodile Stitch). Ill still add this pattern to my collection of kids hats as I do think its worth working up.
