The Kimberly Hat

search

"This crochet hat pattern and the matching infinity scarf (Kimberly Scarf) are particularly elegant with the detail of the “brick” stitch pattern and the subdued band of simple half double crochet. It is an easy stitch that goes quickly once you get the hang of it. The hat works up fast and has a fabulously showy texture that makes it look more complicated than it is. Lots of photos included in the pattern to help you put this together as easily as possible."

I love this Kimberly Hat. The stitch used has a lovely texture and the color used is a neutral color which can go with any color of clothes or scarf. Beautiful!

I agree with JaneEK below. When sewing on your band you must really pay attention and make sure to evenly space it all the way around the hat. You may have to tear it out and try it more than once to get it just right. There are some hat patterns out there where the band is made first, then the body of the hat is worked without fastening off. It's done all in one piece.

Due to the requirements of the Brick Stitch, this lovely hat is worked first as a rectangle before being seamed into a tube shape. Cinching up one end to form the top is always the easy part for me. The tricky bit is working making sure I have the right spacing in the band. Wonderful photo tutorial for this one, and theres a matching scarf pattern as well.
