"This hat is inspired by the cloches of the 1920’s “flapper” era. Simply stated cloche is defined as a “bell” shape. As such, a true cloche hat will resemble a bell. Most cloches were trimmed and adorned with a large flower. This hat is designed to fit snug. How you chose to decorate your cloche is up to you. This hat can easily be made into any size. The post on how to design your custom crochet hat is an awesome sizing guide for making hats."

I like the hat, but those fantasy flowers are just amazing. I especially like how the rose is edged with a different color. That really makes it pop in the middle of the bouquet. The designer recommends using her seamless method of joining and provides an embedded link in her Notes section. This is excellent advice, along with all her other helpful tips.

This spring blossom cloche is really fashionable. I would change only one thing, the color of the hat itself. I think making the base in a bright spring color would make it all the better. The flowers are just perfect.

I think you're right about the color. A lighter green would be a much better background.

I am learning to like the cloche. I keep seeing patterns for them and I have yet to make one. I like this one because of the beautiful flowers that the designer attached. It looks like it could have easily been found on the self of a second hand vintage store.

My Scots grandmother emigrated to New York on her 19th birthday, and I have many photos of her wearing a cloche. They were the height of flapper fashion!
