  1. Where noted, certain rounds of this pattern are worked into the horizontal bar found on the back of the HDC stitch. This is the strand of yarn that runs horizontally just below the back loop of the stitch. For a visual demonstration of this technique please see this YouTube video

  2. First Round of the Hat Base (Cupcake Wrapper): With the right side of the hat facing you, fold the scalloped edge towards you and attach Color C in the horizontal bar of the previous Round’s HDC stitch. Continue working the same stitches around the hat making one hdc in each horizontal bar.

OMG how cute! I really have to make a few of these Ice Cream Cupcake hats. The flavors/colors are endless and I am pleased to see the pattern is written for a child and adult size. I like the layered look of this cute hat as well. More layers helps keep the head warm which is great here in the cold state, MI. Thank you so much for sharing this cute crochet hat.

How delightful! These may be the cutest hats ever. Great crochet project.

I'm speechless when I saw this Ice Cream Cupcake Crochet Hat. It is just so beautiful. It is unique, colorful, and very well thought out. I can't wait to make these cupcake hats for kids. Sooooo beautiful!!

These are too cute. Sized to fit newborn to adults. The hats shown were made using acrylic yarns, but I would much rather make mine with a cotton or cotton blend yarn because it is so much softer of a yarn and it is made with natural materials unlike acrylic.

This hat can be made to fit adults as well as children and babies! When was the last time you saw an adult wearing a cupcake hat? I would totally wear one of these! I am in love with the colors, in love with the look of this adorable hat. I fully appreciate the fact that the patterns are all listed directly above for ease of use. I can save it and access it easily directly from this page. Thanks!

Where do I find the "save pattern" button?

I don't see the pattern here. Only the list of materials. Am I missing a link? Love the way the hat looks.

I don't see a pattern either. Just the list of materials. I've saved the pattern (or what would be the pattern if there was one) to my que...Can someone please post the link with how to make this?
