"This heart hat is full of color and contrast and neat, tidy rows… making it a real show stopper. Pattern includes lots of detailed step-by-step instructions with photos to make it as easy as possible! This heart hat pattern involves a unique stitch (the waistcoat stitch), combined with fair isle crochet (the technique of alternating colors without finishing off to create a design) and includes changing colors mid-stitch. This is a sweetheart of a hat, and I love how the little heart stitches shower down from the top of the beanie. Its almost as if the colored pompon acts as a little cloud! Be warned though, that this is a tricky hat to complete, and although the designer goes out of her way to supply the crafter with tutorial photos, the pattern is still not easy to get through. I strongly expect that once youve worked it, the second time will be much easier.

This is a great pattern and love this Heart Showers Beanie! I can't wait to create one using the waistcoat stitch. I have never done this stitch before and I'm so interested in doing it. After reading everything on the pattern page I think this will come out great. There are so many pictures showing how to do things and the written directions are so well done, that this will be fun to crochet. Thank you so much to sharing this free crochet hat pattern.

I see a lot of nice things and I get some good ideas. I make Elvis Presley blankets without patterns. I will show one, but it is copyright!
