Favorite Textured Slouch Hat

search

This crocheted hat is soon to become your new Favorite Textured Slouch Hat. It is a quick crochet pattern to work up that features a unique reversible texture and a decorative crocodile stitch crochet flower. The hat actually looks ribbed on one side, and it has a textured spiral look on the other because of the stitch pattern that's used. The drape of this particular crocheted slouch hat is created by using a larger hook than you normally would with worsted weight yarn.

I have a very round face, so I tend to stay away from beanies. Thats why this slouchie hat is just perfect for me. The fascinating texture is sure to attract attention, and if that doesnt go it, that wonderful Alligator Stitch flower will do the trick. This delightful pattern is available as a free .pdf download through the Craftsy website.

I think this hat has been appropriately named! Its texture makes you want to reach out and touch it doesn't it? It was very nice for the artisan to make it easy to follow the pattern with all the directions right together. This slouch hat does not have an unnecessary seam and that's great. The directions are also given for turning this hat into a regular one rather than a slouch hat. I'm finding the front post double stitch in more and more patterns that I want to do so I'll cry uncle and learn it! And now to choose a color!!!

I do crochet for sale in my Etsy store and Ill be making this one soon for Christmas. Right now Im trying to finish a few other projects that would be great for the coming Christmas season too. I am definitely going to have to put this pattern to the test very very soon.

Love this pattern, but especially LOVE LOVE LOVE the crocodile stitch flower on it. With the double layers of petals if you made it in red it would look like a poinsettia, don't you think? What a great Christmas gift topper! This pattern includes a very good photo tutorial on the crocodile stitch flower.
