This slouchie beanie hat reminds me of the hats worn by the rastafarian's to hold up those long locks. I live this zig zag puff stitch and I just may make this to wear this winter to help tame my locks when I venture out into the cold.

The zig zag puff stitch of this slouchie beanie does provide a lot of design and texture for this hat. I am not a fan of the color but that can easily be change to compliment my fashion taste. I see it is marked as an easy project and just in time to start for the fall and winter months.

Eeew! Eeew! Eeew! I love, love, love the texture of this Easy Zig Zag Puff Stitch Slouchie Beanie! It is drop dead gorgeous! The weave just makes me want to reach out and touch it!!! It might take more yarn but better on a smaller item like this beanie than an afghan. But oh my wouldn't a full afghan look stunning in this stitch!!! This would be amazingly warm too!!!

I love slouchie hats, but I wont be making this one for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is a complete Yarn Hog. Except for the band, literally every stitch is a Puff, which pretty much quadruples the amount of yarn. Secondly, you have to make the band separately and sew it to the base of the hat. Its a pretty project, and if you want to devote that much yarn to a single project, then try this one. Its well written, and has photos and video to guide you.

I have made a couple winter hats in the puff stitch and it is so awesome. I could sit there and just feel it all day long. What a great texture! Oh my gosh, imagine a cute little sort cardi done up in the puff stitch. I agree, you will need extra yarn for this as all those yarn overs will use up your yarn much faster than normal. Try this slouchy beanie! I think you will love it!

I think the puff stitch is a very easy stitch to crochet. The texture and the color combination of the slouchy beanie has a very modern look to it. I think this would also make a nice afghan, but thats just me. There are a couple of special stitches in this pattern, but nothing too complicated or difficult.
